| The above service has been
around for several years now, but many caravanners have never heard of
the service. As we see it this is really the only alternative if you
cannot organise someone to clear your letter box whilst you are away and
to redirect your mail. Using a family member, friend or
neighbour as your postie often fails. What happens to your mail when
they aren't reliable? Take a holiday? Move? Forget? Address mail
incorrectly? Abuse your privacy? Have an accident? YOUR mail will NEVER
be THEIR top priority. Landbase charge $20-00 per month - that is only $5-00 per
week. This fee is payable in advance for the full period joined. Landbase Australia
claim they provide the safest and most reliable mail-forwarding and message
service available, nationally and internationally.
. Below is taken from their website and
shows how your mail has to be addressed - quite easy to follow actually. YOUR NAME/S including initials (quote LBA NO in brackets) As Landbase Australia receives your mail, a list is made of each sender's name and each item is placed into a B4 size envelope; this list is kept for 4 weeks only from date of posting. The envelope is buff-coloured and has a green border around the front 4 edges for easy identification at Post Offices/Caravan Parks etc. Each envelope posted to you is consecutively numbered in the event that one may go astray. This enables Landbase Australia to advise you of the contents of that envelope, so that you can follow up. Please keep track of the consecutive numbers for your own peace of mind. Each time an envelope of mail is sent to you, the actual cost of the postage paid, plus 40% of that cost as a handling fee, is subtracted from your advance postage deposit or balance thereof. The exception to this rule is that any B4 envelope weighing anything up to 500 gms will attract a minimum flat fee of $3-00 per envelope. |
