On The Road Magazine - Review

This is without doubt our absolute favourite camping and caravanning magazine. Now, could that be because editor/publisher/writer/salesman Patrick Hayes just happens to do most of his work in his mobile A'liner office? You may have noticed the most battered and road worn A'liner in Oz being used as a sales office at the various Caravan shows. It is an excellent example of the long life of the product when worked hard. Make no mistake this is one quality publication. There is also quite a lot of reader input. Most of the reviews towards the back of the magazine are actually contributions made by fellow campers - you know they are spot on with absolutely no "advertorial". The mag covers the three main areas of Reviews, Touring and of course Camping. Patrick also organises getaway week ends for interested readers. These are extremely well organised and very well patronised. You can get it at newsagents, but a safer way is to take out a subscription for $64.90. There are lots of competitions each month with worthwhile prizes. The website has lots of very useful archives for trip planning etc. www.ontheroad.net.au
