EMAILS |
| Judging by the huge amount of emails we have received fellow A-Vanners
certainly like the idea of a web based presence. The site had 612 hits in the
first 4 hours which is quite amazing. A million thanks for the fantastic support
and encouragement we have been given to carry on. We hope to have a monthly edition of
A-Round Oz coming out in the middle of each month. You will notice that the
Australian A'van Club is now on EVERY page thanks to the enthusiasm of
Brendon Smith. This costs the club absolutely nothing, so is a very cost
effective way of attracting new members and keeping us informed on national
matters. Below is Brendon's
initial response. A'van Club of Australia Inc bjsmith@vegas.com.au
Well what a fantastic
surprise! We came across to see Col and Jan on A'van business to be greeted by
this amazing web-site. How long did it take you to create such a marvel? What
software did you use to create this masterpiece? We'll be most interested to
hear.
We have been approached
several times, and it was discussed at last year's Annual Meeting at Echuca
that consideration should be given to the setting up of a site. But with only
about one quarter of A'vanners on the net it wasn't considerable a viable
option to a printed newsletter at that time. We also faced the difficulty that
when people offered to set something up we had no real knowledge of how good
or worthwhile it would be - or how professional or effective such an attempt
would be.
What a thrill it was to see
what you have created - together with the extent and quality of all aspects.
We have spent an hour or so just working our way through most areas and are
really impressed. It will certainly compliment the activities of Club members
all around Australia, and indeed overseas, and add a new, positive dimension
to our endeavours of the written word in our newsletter and Australian
Members' Directory.
Personally, I am most
impressed with the Do-It-Yourself section and think what you have offered
is tremendous. I also like the way you have continually praised the A'van
as a quality product because sometimes this can be overlooked. Funny thing -
Just yesterday I faxed a Queensland manufacturer of roll-up awnings with the
suggestion he might like to contact Brian Eden re his ideas. I believe
some options to what is currently offered would be another choice for
A'vanners to consider.
Joan and I will be attending
the Grampians week starting this coming Saturday. I presume you are happy for
us to advertise the site to all attending, likewise to the Sydney-Central
Coast group who are meeting this weekend at Wiseman's Ferry and the Melbourne
Caravan Show in early April. If for any reason you DO NOT want
this to be advertised yet PLEASE E-MAIL US IMMEDIATELY and let us know.
Again, congratulations
on a fantastic job - it is the start of a new, exciting era for the Club. Well
done!
Brendon, Joan at Colleen's and Jan's!!
Several dealers have contacted us and a couple of typical emails are shown below: Hi Bob, Chrissy, Heather and Siggy What a great web site ... excellent. We really enjoyed spending time on it. We wondered if you would mind our using it in conjunction with our promotions here in New Zealand. We too have set up a site in order to offer information to potential customers and would be pleased to visit at www.caravansandcampers.co.nz . Any feedback and/or constructive criticism would be welcome. Regards Pam and John Anson..... Auckland Dave Benson Caravans, 345 Prospect Road, Blair Athol. SA. I have just had a look through the new website. I must say after 18 years in the caravan repair game, I have never seen such commitment to a product by its customers. I feel very comfortable with the A'van family and hope to welcome them into mine. Congratulations to all those involved in the website. It is simply fantastic.
