This is all highly technical stuff but if you replace the wet cell (flooded) battery in your A'van with a sealed gel type, the Arlec Converter will ruin the new battery as the output voltage will be far too high. This gadget is a wee bit different to anything else on the market as it can charge a 12 V battery from a 12 V supply - loosely called a Recharger. The Twin Charge Battery Charger comes from the 12 Volt Shop in Perth a company mentioned many times on this site as there is just so much information there. The Twin Charge is a switch-mode power supply that charges at full capacity until the output reaches 15 V, then switches off for a few seconds and then repeats the cycle. As the battery reaches full capacity, the on- to off-duty cycle reduces to a very small amount. As with most high end chargers it is suitable and adjustable for both flooded cell and gel batteries. It costs a little over $200.
