Lonely Planet Guide - Tasmania

Wow, what a fantastic cover! It just reaches up and says "buy me"! Most of us dream of going to the Apple Isle and it is up near the top of most caravanners must do list. Lonely Planet is an Australian company and world leader in guide books. We were a little disappointed with it. The most important thing for campervanners is getting there via the ferry. We looked in the index under Getting There - Ferry - Transport - Getting Around - Car - Caravan etc. but sadly we drew a blank. There is under half a page on page 88, but you have to flick through to find it. Maybe the index was done by ex phone book editors? Reams of information though if arriving by air. Apart from this though, it is a great book with lots of excellent really clear photos and plenty of historical and general info. It's a shame though that they don't put the year on the front cover as you have no idea if prices quoted are pre-GST etc. More info on www.lonelyplanet.com/. RRP $22.95. We do recommend it.
