Holidaying with Dogs - Book Review

This book would have to be the bible for those of us travelling with dogs! Now in its 6th Edition it is the most worthwhile publication money can buy for any dog owner. The listings are very much abbreviated yet still fairly easy to read as they are divided into states. Oddly enough we have found the most useful section to be the ads preceding each states listing. Maybe the book could be improved by having a nice little thumbnail print for each entry. Listings presently stand at over 2000. Thanks to the book we discovered a real gem in Riverwood Downs near Barrington Tops roughly just west of Newcastle. It turned out to be even better than the ad - pretty rare in this day and age. You could even take your dog to dinner on the verandah - wonderful stuff! The books are quite well made and easily fit in the glove box. The book does not list State Forests etc. only cottages, B&B's and caravan parks so there are still lots of other spots available. We use ours in conjunction with all the Boiling Billy Guides and Camps Australia Wide by Phil Proctor. Expect to pay around $15.50 to $17.00 from most bookshops, camping suppliers and most motoring clubs. CMCA members can order at a discount from the bookshopAbsolutely recommended.
