Camping Guide to Tasmania |

There is a real need for this book as up till now to our knowledge there has been only one other publication covering this topic and it was published way back in 1998 so things could have changed considerably. We really like the way Boiling Billy present their books making them a delight to use. The book covers 78 areas and includes details of 143 campsites. The how to get there instructions are concise and easy to follow with a Hema reference to finish things off. Lots of info for those wishing to take dogs - basically a no go in all National Parks, but OK in state forests and lots of coastal reserves. Private campsites are not listed so the book effectively covers, National Parks, State Forests, Conservation Areas, Coastal Reserves, Lakeside Reserves (many!), and all the dog friendly areas. Lots of actual place photos to get your feet really itching. The front cover camp photo (opposite) for instance is dog friendly, next to a lake, and guess what? It's totally free! You can buy it directly on the Internet, most camping shorts shortly or from CMCA if you are a member. Priced from $10.00. Absolutely recommended. |
