USA A'vanners Second Rally

We have had lots of messages from the States from very exited A'vanners as their second rally has proved to be a huge success. The campground at Branson looks to be about as good as you can get with excellent facilities including a very cosy meeting area. Hi Bob,

The turn out was excellent with 117 people (60 units) showing up... plus a dealer with 5 units, and the west coast distributor representing the factory.... 4 uninvited showed up and joined the club in Branson. The dam in the pictures is Table Rock Dam and the river flows into Lake Taneycomo - note the fishing boats in the channel! For those interested in photography Bob Hoffman took the photo above WITHOUT flash on his F1.7 Olympus - impressive stuff!

Don't think we would get away with a Catfish and Chicken dinner in Oz! The most popular activity at the USA rallies appears to be "Open House" - same as Show and Tell in Australia. Bob Hoffman tells us "The open house started on schedule and the time allotted did not seem nearly enough to examine each of the A'liners opened for inspection". This is exactly what happens at our Queensland rallies - sometimes it goes for a couple of days and you end up coming home sunburnt even in winter! We have featured a few of the newer ideas in the Show and Tell section - the one that really tickled us was the chandelier. We will never catch up with the Yanks when it comes to going over the top! Seriously, it really is fantastic how we interchange ideas even though the two clubs are so far apart.

Camp management provided a nice pancake breakfast - free. You can read the complete story on their website at www.alinerclub.org - some wonderful high quality photos in there as well.

Bob Eustace
