Queensland A'vanners Christmas Party 23rd-25th November 2001

We have just received a call from a very excited Gayle and Evan Jones of Crows Nest Caravan Park advising that they now have over 80 vans booked in for the Gala Xmas Party. On top of that every available cabin and onsite van has been booked by those awaiting delivery of a van or those still making up their minds - it's up to us to convince them! They can still fit more in, so if you are in the area please do pop in - all welcome and the contact details are listed below. Crows Nest is about 30 minutes north of Toowoomba on the New England Highway. If you want more info on the park there is a nice review in the Newsletter section. Just scroll down the list.

Lots of events have been planned by the hard working club committee, as well as Gayle and Evan and, of course, Gary Kratzmann, our Premier A'van dealer in Queensland. There will be a welcoming afternoon tea on the Friday 23/11/01, Carols by Candlelight before the Christmas Feast on Saturday 24/11/01. Don't forget late check out whenever you leave is absolutely free. What a fabulous park - no wonder we all keep coming back!

Gayle and Evan will be organising some set times for payment at the office and it would be really appreciated if you could fit in with this. Some people are coming for a week, others only for the weekend, with the majority being two or three day stays.  If they don't make these set payment times, Gayle will be caught in the office all the time and won't be able organise the cooking - now that would be a real disaster as those who came last year would know.  Those Ice Cream Plum Puddings are just something else!!! Oh yes - Gayle tells us there will only be eight different desserts available this year! Cost of the dinner with all the usual Christmas trimmings is an amazingly low $16.50 per person. It's still not tooooooo late to book - either email Gayle or phone (07) 4698 1269 fax (07) 4698 1900.

Chrissy will be working in the catering section and if you would like to help out, please contact Gayle at crowsnestvanpark@cnnet.net.au or Chrissy at xsy@uq.net.au. With nearly 200 people and knowing how much effort Gayle puts into her catering, there will be plenty of food - from hot meats to salads to deserts - we know no one will go hungry. The Bain Marie, which is a fantastic new addition to the hall since our last Christmas party, will really pay its way keeping all that food warm.

The most important thing is for every one to be their usual patient self and go table by table.

Channel 9 Toowoomba will be covering the event and will have a news crew out there over the weekend. Carols will be a sing along style event, with music supplied by Around Oz (our son Brad is a very accomplished musician and has been bribed by Gayle's catering reputation to make the journey for the weekend - give him a good feed and he will do almost anything). Gary Kratzmann, Queensland premier A'van dealer has kindly sponsored the printed programs for the Christmas Carols. So we expect there to be much hilarity and hopefully harmonious singing - but the jury will wait and make its decision on the night for the harmony.

We are even bringing a microphone so Evan and Barbara's speeches can be heard - with such a full hall there is sure to be plenty of happy noise!
