The Pambula Beach gathering (at the Big 4 - Holiday
Hub) was really good and again extremely well organised. We
were at the Inaugural Meeting as well as at the 1st Annual AGM at
Echuca last year so we can vouch that the Office Bearers have
maintained their very high standard that they set right at the
start: Not surprisingly they were re-elected unopposed.
I think there were over 150 vans this year, so this
very success probably poses problems for future gatherings, as the
number of venues that can take that number (or more) is quite
limited. Also the organising to cater for such a number, put
quite a burden on the Committee: it must be like organising a
Business Seminar (but fortunately without the Accommodation
concerns, aside from venues, that is). It may be that
eventually the gatherings devolve to State level.
Anyway, that is something for the Committee and Members to sort
out in due course, but the issue was flagged by the Secretary,
Brendon.
No doubt you may receive advice from the Committee
about the Meeting in due course (if you haven't already), so the
following information is unofficial, as it were. There
were a couple of matters dealt with at the meeting and these were
resolved unanimously;
1. Future AGM to be held any time between
the 1st April and 30th June each year (to give some
flexibility)
2. The Club Membership limited to
Prospective (i.e. paid deposit), Current and Former Owners of
A'vans (i.e. NOT Chalet owners).
Your Web page was favourably referred to and
welcomed at the Meeting and mention made of the CD-Rom for the
2/3rd of Members that do not have email. A flier of A-Round
Oz was available.
In all it was another good AGM. Pity you
couldn't have made it.
