New Ideas from Fiamma

Fiamma the famous Italian manufacturer make the Fantastic fan we would all love to have in our camper! Most products made by Fiamma are absolutely top quality and in our experience give years of trouble free service. You can buy them from the larger RV outlets such as Caravan Accessories or Carac etc. but they are available direct from the main distributors Coast to Coast RV in just about all states. This is a huge company but sadly the Australian website is absolutely awful and all the info shown here came from Italy and the States. Grypsys

A great idea if you are forced to park on sand or soft earth and don't want to get bogged. Nice and light and easy to stow as well. The string idea is certainly a good one if you hate walking back to retrieve things!

Plates

Another great idea to stop your stays digging into the dirt. Nice and compact and the bright yellow colour means less chance of leaving them behind! You can also use them under other types of stays as pictured below.

Keeping Out the Sun!

Another brilliant idea. Both A'van and Chalet are fantastically airy, but this comes at the price of tooooo much light at night if you happen to be close to a lamp post in a caravan park etc. The gadget on the left fits directly onto Fiamma's 14" plastic vent. This is a good vent to think about if your camper doesn't have vents as the Fiamma one is all plastic and doesn't rattle in the wind like the Jensen ones fitted as standard to the A'van. The optional cover has a roll out blind built in very similar to the Electrolux. The device on the right could easily be adapted to suit existing Jensen vents but you might need to check you have enough clearance. This idea appeals to us and we intend to follow it up. It's not readily apparent but the Fiamma vents have a huge advantage over the Jensen in that they let a small amount of air in and out when completely closed without any water leakage.

Keeping Out the Rain!

It would appear that this cover could be adapted to fit over say your centre existing Jensen vent. This would allow the vent to be open in a full downpour. We also feel having one of these could go a long way to minimising the condensation problem that seems to plague A'vans. Jensen do have their own version but so far as we know this is only available in the States. We asked Coast to Coast about the Fiamma covers and wre told they don't sell in Queensland! Well we would certainly buy one.

Fiamma 14" Vent

Fiamma have an exact equivalent to the Jensen 14" as fitted to all A'vans and most Chalets. The Jensen's come in two types. Screw to the roof and glue to the roof. The glue models have a metal surround and certainly look nicer on an A'van. Fiamma only have the screw to the roof type. This means that unless you are a "silicone expert" it is very hard to get the lovely smooth finish you get with the no screws Jensen's. As mentioned above - if the noise of the Jensen's drives you crazy then switch to Fiamma's and sleep peacefully! The cost is usually 20% more than Jensen.
