Apart from sleeping comfortably your A-Van must MUST be almost LEVEL for the fridge to work properly. You can buy string line levels and keep them in a draw, but most of the time the thing is "missing"! 

A better solution is a proper RV level. These gadgets can be very hard to track down as hardware stores just don't seem to stock them - even huge warehouses such as Bunnings or Hardwarehouse have zilch. Ours came from Coast to Coast RV in Brisbane ($9). Siggy & Heather Nowak.
