The lock fitted to most A-Vans is about the best fitted to any van in Australia - it is just so strong! But there is a gigantic problem. If you SNIB the lock whilst the door is open then shut the door you cannot open the door from the outside with the key. The only way in is via an external hatch! Ouch!!!! General consensus from those that had been so afflicted was to cut the snib off and use just the top lock for night time use. A fellow A'vanner fitted a very nice brass polished barrel bolt on the bottom half of the door. This worked well.
