Self Levelling Foot with Pad

This is a really clever idea and extremely practical. We found it on a 10 year old Evernew at Thunderbird Caravan Park just south of Brisbane. This system sort of imitates the fantastic stays fitted on top end Australian made campers. Those with an A'van can easily make this modification. All you need is four pieces of light channel about 10" long, and four 3" long X 3/8 bolts with Nyloc nuts. Remove the existing feet using your small angle grinder and radius the ends. If you don't have a grinder use a cold chisel. The welds are only tacks so they come off easily. Drill a hole right through and if you have a welder pop a bit of weld on the head of the bolt. Tighten the Nyloc nut to keep the foot tight. This is important to stop it rattling when in the raised position. As the A'van leg has a raised embossed section along the edges you MUST use a wider piece of channel than the foot width. Use washers to fill the gap. Could anyone doing this mod please pop us over some photos and advise the best size channel to use. Lou and Moira Heys of Melbourne have made many DIY mods to their van which incidentally was in great shape after covering almost 100,000 kms! True grey nomads!
