Improved Stays

Stays are one of our biggest moans with modern caravans. The main beef is you must bend down to operate them - not always easy for the over 60's! Oddly enough you didn't have to kneel down with the very early A'vans - have we made progress? Windsor have just started fitting the stay pictured. It is an entirely new mechanism and doesn't need lots of winding and can be extended in seconds not minutes. Everything can be done with just the tiniest bend down. It would be wonderful for A'van to "discover" these new gadgets! To lower you just pull the pin. This drops the leg. You then place a very short crank spanner on the nut and just do a few turns - a lot simpler than all the winding that goes on with the standard types. The stays need to be mounted close to the edges. These could easily be retrofitted to your A'van if like us you suffer from back pain!
