How Much Water's in the Tank? |
It is quite hard to guesstimate how much water is in the tank, as first up you have to peer under the bed - no easy task for those with the sofa bed model who leave the bed made up. Even if you can look underneath it's still very hard to "guess" the level. Bearing all this in mind we lashed out and bought a water level gauge. This works fantastically well and installation is covered in the A-DIY section. An arm is inserted into your tank and a cable runs to the gauge part. To find out how much water you have, you simply press the TEST button. If there's four buckets left you get four green lights. If there's two buckets left you get two green lights! Cooool stuff and great for making other A'vanners jealous! This gadget has its own built in battery and it should last at least two years, as long as you can keep your inquisitive grand children away from it! What is it with kids and water? Camec also sells more expensive units that work totally differently using the changing conductivity of different volumes of water. There is a bit of a trap here as they only work in a plastic tank. Many A'vanners have installed aluminium or stainless steel tanks so forget this system. They are also available in dual models for around $130.00/$260.00. This is a good move if you have installed a second plastic tank just for drinking water. |
