USA Vent Locks

Lots of activity on this subject on the USA message boards at present. Apparently A'van have added a small rubber locking device to all the Jensen vent handles. There have been many cases in Australia with vents opening whilst on the move. The worst one we have come across is a chap losing all three vents when passing a truck. This seems like a good idea and an easy fix for all our DIY enthusiasts. Below is an extract of the message with the best explanation.

"At the top (roof peak) inside edge (the flat sides perpendicular to the roof), A'liner now has a bungee loop which comes out of a hole in middle of the vent's frame.  It is attached somehow one the other
side of the frame (probably just a knot).  When the butterfly crank handles are closed you slip the bungee over the crank handle.

You can still open the vents from the inside with the bungee on them by turning the crank.  The bungee slips around the shaft of the crank, but it should be snug enough to stop the vents from vibrating
open.

You could install your own bungee by drilling a small hole and forcing a knot, butterfly bolt, etc. through, or putting an "eyelet" screw into the side of the frame."
