Regular readers of these pages will already know we hate the way that the otherwise excellent Hayman Reece towbars rattle around - particularly when you are not towing! Other manufacturers simply add a locking bolt in the side to stop this happening. We are pleased to report that a locking screw is now fitted to all towbars supplied as "original equipment" for the Subaru Forester. Being located right on a corner it positively locks the mechanism in both directions and towing is now blissfully silent. It only takes 30 seconds to do up the bolt. Let's hope that this feature eventually filters down to all other units!
