Parking/storing on an impossible site - a very clever solution

This is a rather clever solution to storing a van on an almost impossible site. The owner has built a fairly robust ramp - stainless steel bolts no less! A lot of attention to detail here as well. The van is sited in a W41 area (high wind) so particular attention has been given to wind. In this case it comes from the rear of the van which of course could lift it off the ramps.

The tie system is better than cyclone rating and uses turnbuckles at the front and rear. There is no way this van is going to move! We have included lots of detail photos to make it easy to copy. We really liked the way the hold downs were actually on a removable bar - much stronger than taking the easy way out and drilling a hole in the ramp. Wouldn't this set up be fantastic for putting the black gunk under your A'van every 12months!

Driving off the end would result in the van going through the roof of the house so very high barriers have been used. Similarly the side guides are much higher than really required. The whole idea was to increase safety. The set up is in Brisbane if anyone would like to look at it more closely. The owner is a very keen caravanner and will discuss it with you - sadly no email just yet so just email Around Oz.
