One of the things that really sets A'van apart from other RV manufacturers is that they really listen to what consumers have to say and if needed/warranted modify the production line. We raised a problem we had with young Scott Van Baardwyck (factory manager). Going to bed at night as soon as you "plopped" into bed the door would open. A bit of an embarrassing situation at rallies! We were also concerned with security, as we felt it was too easy to force the door. A couple of months later Scott fronted up in Brisbane with a new striker plate he had designed (a very clever fellow) and kindly fitted it. Wow!!! This simple modification solved all our problems and to break in you would have to really smash the door down. We went down to the Gold Coast Caravan Show in March 2002 and guess what - all the latest production models now have this simple modification. A'van sure work fast sometimes!
