Sidelight Replacement

The sidelights on your A'van are very easy to damage despite being a top quality fitting. Trees etc. can leap out at your van as you park! If you want an EXACT factory replacement you can get one at Autobarn - Narva Part No. 85760 - look for a royal blue packet. Fitting is very easy. Undo the centre screw and remove the cover. Make sure that the plug to your vehicle is removed. Be careful not to lose the black (inside) and clear washers. outside)

Remove the FAWN positive wire and the WHITE earth. Its a good idea to write this down. Remove the two PK screws and the assembly is free. It is not usually siliconed on as the back acts as a rubber gasket. If you are just replacing a globe (5 watt 12 Volt festoon) you may have to gently bend the brass up a little to get a good contact. Reassembly is very straightforward. The lens is a little tricky. It is easiest to align it with the bottom lip first then press down as you insert the top. Using a knife etc. is not a good idea.
