Stopping Fluorescent Light RF Noise

We have come across quite a few DIY installed fluorescent lights in A'vans. Fluorescent lights are really the only choice in your A'van if you enjoy free camping as the light output is high with the lowest current drain per watt of light thereby extending battery life. This enables one to free camp longer without a recharge for those without solar. The only drawback is if you like to finish the day reading in bed with the radio playing gently in the background you get this dreadful "buzzing" radio interference (RF) drowning out the soothing music. We have just come across a quick and very inexpensive fix for this problem. All you do is pop along to your friendly  Dick Smith Electronics store and ask for a fluorescent light suppressor. We came across this lovely fitting at the Caravan show in a Winnebago. Looks expensive but has zero flicker and gives excellent light output! Another A'van advantage is much lower heat and even if they came in contact with soft furnishings they possibly would not cause damage This is not the case if you forget to turn off your A'van reading or main lights as can happen with the incandescent system presently installed as standard - they tend to distort badly apart from the slight fire hazard.
