I have already replied and thanked you for forwarding us the
information about the www.aroundoz.8m.com
Site. Ian and I will be attending the IMBIL get together of the Queensland A'liner Group and joining the A'van Club whilst we are there. I have just read all the A-FORUM Articles on your Site and also have had a look at the Site as well. I still have a lot of reading to do on the Site, however it is a wonderful Site and you are to be congratulated. Truly a credit to everybody involved. Ian and I bought our A'liner new just before Xmas 2000. Ian took his holidays in the early part of this year. Apart from using the A'liner twice locally here on the Gold Coast, Queensland our trip was to test it out. The A'liner performed admirably, and we are really happy with our choice of camper. It was a decision which we researched over a long time, before making the purchase. It was good to know in ourselves we made the correct choice. The photo above is our A'liner 1D - Expedition Model nestled under established large shady trees, abundant in the Rutherglen Caravan Park. BoBo our four legged travelling companion, taking advantage of the shade and views over the dam, on this particularly hot day. |

| In the 16 days we were away we traveled through parts of Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales before returning home. There were so many places we visited that we have vowed to return to. Too many to mention. However, this particular area in Victoria called Rutherglen is one of our favourites. We have attached a few photographs and you may like to use them in an A'liner Newsletter for other members to consider visiting. We stayed at the Rutherglen Caravan Park . The Amenities Block had recently been upgraded and was brand new. It apparently was very run down previously according to the new owner that we spoke to. We found the amenities faultless. The view is over a local dam which was at one time the areas water supply. Truly a great location. There are Vineyards in the Rutherglen area, so this is an excellent base. |

| The Police Paddocks at Rutherglen are nearby also. There are NO FACILITIES of ANY nature e.g. showers, toilets. A back to nature area if every sense of the word. To my knowledge it is FREE to camp there. It really is a lovely location. Gravel access but the conditions of the road were okay for a two wheel drive vehicle when we visited. |

| The dam has an abundance of fauna. Ducks congregate at the waters edge, early mornings and late evenings, eagerly awaiting the occasional stale bread crust. Good walking tracks start and meander around the dam for those early and late afternoon walks. Swimming is not allowed in the dam, however there is a Public Swimming Pool and Children's Playground close by, all within a few minutes walk of the Rutherglen Caravan Park. The Police Paddocks is an island 1000 acres (405 hectares) used to spell police horses in the 1880s. |
